Cirrhus9 has launched C9 CSP, a cloud computing service platform designed to let service providers, managed hosing firms and IT services companies generate new revenue by offering its clients cloud computing infrastructure as a service.

C9 CSP platform is powered in part by 3tera's award winning AppLogic cloud computing platform and managed by Cirrhus9. The C9 CSP offering allows these firms to extend their business offerings and products to the cloud, and in turn, offer their customers a cost-effective and quick-to-deploy private cloud options.

Cirrhus9 execs hope their new PaaS as channel model will spur creation of new cloud partner networks, and speed cloud adoption among end users

"In today's economic climate, many service companies..are challenged with clients who have shrinking budgets. As these service providers struggle to remain relevant, they are exploring ways in which cloud computing can create competitive advantage and actually free up budget dollars for project work," said Mike Michalik, CEO, Cirrhus9, in a statement.

Cihhus9's partner 3tera also noted the two firms will continue to work together to optimize clod partnership opportunities. "Cirrhus9's new offering is a great example how partners find new ways to work together effectively and successfully in the cloud computing space," said Bert Armijo, SVP sales, marketing and product management, 3Tera Inc., in the statement.
