Talend is shipping a real-time data integration platform for enterprise application integration. Talend Integration Suite RTX provides a high-throughput, message-based architecture that integrates with message oriented middleware (MOM) and SOA.

Talend Integration Suite RTX is based on the firm's popular Talend Integration Suite enterprise-grade data integration platform. The RTX edition aims to help IT improve decision support with up-to-the-minute data streams, real-time displays and better data consistency across applications Talend officials said.

"As the speed of business increases, IT organizations need to provide efficient and reliable technology to ensure the consistency of data across the information system, and its immediate availability for efficient decision-making," said Fabrice Bonan, co-founder and COO of Talend, in a statement. "Talend Integration Suite RTX provides—in one unified platform—all the features needed by the enterprise to consolidate their real-time integration needs."

RTX will offer cut time and money needed to develop and maintain data integrations, Bonan added.

As an example, RTX allows merchants to make promotional offers on-the-fly, based on real user behavior - not projections. RTX also lets merchants improve customer service by helping ensure all points of customer contact (web and in-person) can access the same up-to-date information.

RTX also adds SOA management capabilities that automatically deploy integration processes as data integration services or data services. This allows legacy assets and processes to be completely integrated into SOA.

At least one analyst firm is bullish at the prospects Talend brings to real-time data integration. .

"Integration today is mostly performed by hand-coded data movement processes developed by application programmers. Continued reliance on batch data movement and hand-coded integration is a recipe for failure," said Mark Madsen, president and founder of Third Nature, a technology research firm, in the statement. "Companies that want to excel today need a real-time data integration infrastructure and progressive IT organizations are using data integration tools that combine real-time data movement with transformation and quality rules—without the laborious programming effort."
