Global 360's viewPoint, previewed at the Gartner BPM Summit, offers a 'persona-based' Business Process Management approach which delivers BPM apps that can better adapt to requirements of three trypes of user - developers, end users and managers.

The viewPoint 'persona-based' BPM helps each type of user be more productive, because they receive their own unique "views" that include only the information and capabilities they need to get their work done, company officials said.

"Creating usable end-user applications typically accounts for more than 40% of a BPM system's deployment cost and can influence as much as 60% of the project's total return on investment," said Global 360 CEO David Mitchell in a statement. "We think there's a smarter and faster way for BPM customers to spend their money and achieve ROI, so we developed viewPoint applications that deliver customized end-user applications, right out-of-the-box."

Global 360's viewPoint 'persona-based' approach to BPM approach is based on extensive research with customers. Research found most BPM systems fail to sufficiently address the needs of end users, because systems focus instead primarily on developers, company officials reported. Making this trade-off, between developers and end users, can result in what Global 360 calls "inflexible systems," that force end-users to adapt to the system - rather than having the system adapt to user needs.

The Global 360 viewPoint applications helps users by:
  • Closing the communication gap between the builders of the BPM system and the end users.
  • Reducing the time it takes them to do their work.
  • Delivering a system designed to make people, not just the system, more productive.

  • Global 360 is demonstrating viewPoint applications for the first time at the Gartner BPM Summit from March 23-25, 2009 in San Diego, California. ViewPoint applications will be available to customers as part of the Global 360 BPM Suite in June 2009.
