China's Ping An Insurance will use Software AG's webMethods ESB product suite to support its business expansion and offer new 'one account' services for insurance, banking and asset management to 40 million customers.

Ping An's "one account" service, launched only 6 months ago, already has more than 100,000 customers signed up for the program, the companies said.

Using Software AG's webMethods ESB product suite will allow Ping An to more quickly design and deploy the IT platform needed to support its multi-product, multi-channel, business expansion.

"We've long recognized the business benefits of a more adaptive and flexible IT infrastructure, and therefore established an Integrated IT infrastructure to support our rapidly expanding businesses," said Henry Ma, IT General Manager and Chief Architect of Ping An, in a statement.

Using an ESB also empowers a vast benefit in reuse of legacy software assets and business rules, the Ping An official added. "We are, in effect, re-using intellectual property. We can leverage what we have done for one business unit to fulfill requirements coming from another. The webMethods suite from Software AG delivers the visibility and control that allows us to manage a very granular, dynamic and fast-paced IT environment."

"Ping An is a thriving example of how SOA can confer the benefits of business ability without sacrificing the raw performance needed to bring on 30,000 new auto insurance policies a day while supporting 40 million life insurance customers" Said Miko Matsumura Vice President and Deputy CTO, Software AG

Ping An's Drive for Growth with ESB, SOA
In 2005, Ping An began working to streamline its business operations, using webMethods to integrate key enterprise systems, including its Customer Information File, which synchronizes client profile information between different applications across its various subsidiaries, according to Software AG.

Ping An officials selected webMethods because it was able to deliver a reliable and proven business integration and process management platform within a comprehensive SOA design, the companies said in a statement. This allowed Ping An to quickly and efficiently meet various system integration and process automation requirements.

Because Ping An recognized how developments in the software industry could totally transform a business strategy, its IT Department is now able to better support business initiatives to compete successfully in the market,´ according to David Broadbent, COO of its Far East Region. "Supporting business functions such as a single view of the customer and mergers and acquisitions in such a fast paced environment is a testament to a truly effective partnership between business and IT," he said in a statement.
