Quantivo Wins Cloud Computing Emerging Technology Award

Quantivo is the winner of the Emerging Technology Award from the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal for the cloud computing category. Cloud computing enables Quantivo's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model.

Cloud computing also enables the company's Quantivo Retail SaaS to provide companies with analytics on customer behavior, and provide them ways to act on these behavior patterns without the hassle or excessive costs associated with some in-house business intelligence (BI) applications, Kelly added.

In specific, the Quantivo Retail solution includes "Affinity Analytics" technology provides a way for companies to quickly identify customer behavior patterns across hundreds of millions of records at a fraction of the cost of traditional analytics software, according to the company. Quantivo combines cloud computing with its Affinity Analytics technology to give business users the ability to make fast decisions to help them increase sales, maintain tighter inventories, improve campaigns and increase customer loyalty, the company said.

Using Quantivo Retail, one customer -- Orchard Supply Hardware -- was able to quickly identify customer behavior patterns and answer key questions, including:

  • What was the overall effectiveness of my last promotion?
  • What other items were purchased with products on promotion?
  • Did customers return in the following weeks to purchase follow-on products?
  • What is the profile of the customer who responded to the promotion and what will they most likely buy next?


  • With the answers to these questions, OSH marketers can now more quickly create new promotions or marketing programs to specific customers.

    Quantivo's SaaS delivery model and Cloud Computing infrastructure enabled OSH merchandisers to begin using the service in just two weeks. There was no hardware to procure, no software to install and configure. OSH just sent their data to Quantivo to onboard into the Quantivo Affinity database. This on-demand service model provides the ultimate efficiency and flexibility for customers.
