BNP Paribas Improves Loans BPM with Pegasystems
As the credit crisis rolls on, many financial institutions are better integrating workflow and business process systems. The latest example, BNP Paribas will use the PegaRules Process Commander platform from Pegasystems Inc., to improve loan origination and approval systems for its large loans processing operation.
In the latest example of this trend, BNP Paribas will use the PegaRules Process Commander platform from Pegasystems Inc. to improve loan origination and approval systems for its large loans processing operation, according to BNP executives.
BNP Paribas will replace a number of existing disparate systems and manage various business credit lines with the integrated Pegasystems platform, the company said.
"This will deliver several important benefits at BNP Paribas," said Pegasystems' country manager, Laurent Chailley, in a statement. "First, Greater visibility will significantly enhance operation efficiencies, by providing a single global view of any risk exposure posed by complex corporate loans across multiple business lines. And second, Pegasystems' inherent flexibility will enable BNP Paribas both to offer clients a broader and more competitive range of services and meet changing regulatory requirements."
BNP Paribas selected PegaRules Process Commander based on the combination of speed and agility the platform offered. The bank wanted to ensure that it could implement the technology as quickly as possible, according to Pegasystems. BNP Paribas also wanted to have a full log of existing corporate loan agreements in place to ensure compliance with impending regulatory requirements.
In addition, by bringing the rules and processes systems together, the Pegasystems platform will allow BNP Paribas to delegate process change to business managers in each country, providing essential flexibility and allowing the business to respond efficiently and effectively to local market changes.
Chailley said the Pegasystems technology is ideally suited to large organizations looking to undergo a thorough process change.
"Our integrated rules-based approach has the capacity to handle extreme complexity, is both highly dynamic and scalable and delivers a proven rapid return on investment," Chailley said in the statement. "In short, BNP Paribas and other enterprise businesses adopting Pegasystems will have the agility to build for change."
